Easterseals wishes to thank the Ohio Valley for voting the pediatric medical rehabilitation and medical practice into the Top 3 in two Best of the Ohio Valley Readers' Choice categories: best nonprofit and physical rehabilitation facility.
The contest started with nominations of 25 nonprofits and 10 physical rehabilitation facilities. Final round voting featuring the top 5 in each category took place Oct. 2-8 on The Intelligencer/Wheeling News-Register and The Times Leader websites. The newspapers notified Easterseals Tuesday of its making it into the top 3 and were invited to the gala announcement event on Nov. 19 at Wheeling Park's White Palace. The first, second, and third place winners will be published in the newspapers on Nov. 20.
"We appreciate the Ohio Valley's love and support for our clients through the years," Marketing Director Betsy Bethel-McFarland said. "Our therapists and medical staff put their hearts and souls into helping children live their lives to the best of their abilities. The real winners, of course, are our clients, who because of steadfast community support receive life-changing medical rehabilitation therapies and medical care every day regardless of their ability to pay."
Easterseals provides outpatient medical rehabilitation therapies in Wheeling and Steubenville. It also offers physical medicine and rehabilitation services, behavioral medicine services, and autism services in Wheeling.
